Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 14, 2026
Felix Culpa Publishing, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") develops and publishes the Fastara mobile application ("App") for iOS (iPhone). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you consent to the practices described herein.
This Privacy Policy is available at https://fastara.app/privacy. Our Terms of Service are available at https://fastara.app/terms.
The key message of this Privacy Policy is that Fastara is a privacy-first app — all personal data stays on your device, there are no user accounts, no analytics tracking, and the only third-party service (RevenueCat) receives only anonymous purchase data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Health & Cycle Data (User-Provided, Stored Locally)
Fastara allows you to enter and track personal health information. The following data is collected and stored exclusively on your device using Apple's UserDefaults framework. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party server:
- Last menstrual period start date: Entered during onboarding and editable in Settings.
- Cycle length: Configurable between 21–40 days, entered during onboarding.
- Period length: Configurable between 2–10 days, entered during onboarding.
- Current cycle day: Calculated automatically from the above inputs.
- Current cycle phase: Derived from your cycle data (Menstrual, Follicular, Ovulatory, or Luteal).
This information is classified as sensitive health data under applicable privacy regulations. No account creation or login is required to use Fastara. We do not maintain user accounts, and we have no ability to access, view, or retrieve the health data stored on your device.
1.2 Symptom Tracking Data (User-Provided, Stored Locally)
Users may log the following symptom data, which is stored entirely on-device:
- Symptom types: Energy, Mood, Cramps, Bloating, Headache, Sleep, Cravings, and Focus.
- Symptom rating: A numeric intensity rating for each symptom.
- Free-text notes: Optional notes attached to symptom logs.
- Associated metadata: Date, cycle day, and cycle phase at the time of logging.
1.3 Fasting Session Data (User-Provided/App-Generated, Stored Locally)
The App records the following fasting data, stored entirely on-device:
- Fasting start time and end time;
- Target fasting hours;
- Cycle phase at the time of the fast;
- Completion status;
- Fasting streak count.
1.4 App Preferences & Settings (Stored Locally)
The App stores the following preference data on your device:
- Notification preferences: Fasting reminders enabled/disabled, cycle reminders enabled/disabled, and preferred reminder time.
- Onboarding completion status: Whether you have completed the initial app setup.
- App review prompt tracking: Count of completed fasts since the last review request and the date of the last review request. This data is used solely to determine when to display an App Store review prompt via Apple's StoreKit framework.
1.5 Widget Data Sharing (On-Device Only)
If you use the Fastara home screen widget, certain cycle and fasting data is shared between the main App and the widget extension via Apple's App Groups framework (group identifier: group.app.rork.fastara). This data sharing occurs entirely on your device and does not involve any network transmission. The widget displays your current cycle and fasting status using locally stored data only.
1.6 Information Collected by Third-Party Services
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage in-app subscription purchases (premium tier). When you make a purchase or restore a subscription, RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous app user identifier (not linked to your name, email, or health data);
- Purchase and transaction data provided by Apple (product identifier, purchase date, expiration date, transaction ID);
- Subscription status.
No personal identifiers (name, email) are sent to RevenueCat by the App. RevenueCat does not receive any of your health data, cycle information, symptom logs, or fasting records. RevenueCat's processing of this data is governed by their privacy policy, available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple StoreKit (App Review Prompts)
The App uses Apple's StoreKit framework to prompt you to rate the App after certain usage milestones. This is a native iOS system dialog. No personal data is shared with us or any third party through this feature.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — Local Only
The App uses Apple's notification system to deliver local notifications only, including fasting reminders, period prediction alerts, and fasting completion notifications. All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. We do not operate a remote push notification server. No notification data leaves your device.
1.7 Information We Do NOT Collect
For clarity, Fastara does not collect, access, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials;
- Location data;
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs (IDFA);
- Analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking data (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, or any similar SDK);
- Crash reporting data (no crash reporting SDK is included);
- Cookies or web tracking of any kind;
- Photos, contacts, or microphone data;
- HealthKit or Apple Health data — the App does not integrate with Apple Health;
- Any data through third-party advertising networks or tracking SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your health and wellness data is processed entirely on your device to provide the App's core functionality, including:
- Calculating your current cycle day and phase, and providing phase-appropriate fasting window recommendations;
- Tracking and displaying your fasting sessions, streaks, and history;
- Recording and displaying symptom logs and trends over time;
- Generating personalized exercise and nutrition guidance based on your cycle phase;
- Delivering locally scheduled notifications and reminders;
- Displaying cycle and fasting status in the home screen widget.
Cycle and fasting data is used solely for generating on-device recommendations. No health data is shared with healthcare providers or any third party.
The anonymous subscription data processed by RevenueCat is used solely to verify your subscription status and unlock Premium features.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
The App does not sell, rent, trade, or share personal data with any third party. We do not use advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or any form of health data monetization.
The only third-party service that receives any data from the App is RevenueCat, which receives only anonymous purchase and subscription data necessary for transaction processing, as described in Section 1.6 above.
Data export: Users can manually export their data as a JSON file via Settings → "Export My Data." This is a user-initiated action only — the App does not transmit data unless you explicitly choose to export it.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Local storage: All user data is stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults framework. There is no cloud database, no remote server, and no backend database storing personal data.
- No cross-device sync: Data is not synced across devices. There is no iCloud sync, no server sync, and no mechanism for transferring data between devices (except through the manual JSON export feature).
- Retention: Data persists on your device as long as the App is installed.
- Subscription data: RevenueCat retains anonymous purchase records in accordance with their data retention policies.
- Uninstallation: If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data (stored in UserDefaults) is permanently and irreversibly deleted from your device. Because we do not maintain server-side copies, we cannot recover your data after deletion or uninstallation.
5. Data Export and Deletion
Fastara provides you with full control over your data:
- Data export: You may export all of your data (cycle settings, fasting sessions, symptom logs, and preferences) as a JSON file via Settings → "Export My Data" within the App. This facilitates your right of access and data portability. The Company does not retain copies of exported data.
- Data deletion: You may permanently delete all of your data via Settings → "Delete All Data" within the App. This action permanently removes all cycle settings, fasting history, symptom logs, and preferences from your device. This action is irreversible. Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered by you or by us.
- No server-side data: Because no personal data is stored on our servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion of.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. The following measures protect your information:
- On-device protection: All data is stored in iOS UserDefaults, which is protected by your device's hardware encryption and iOS application sandboxing. Each app's data is isolated from other apps on your device.
- Device security: The security of your health data depends on your device's built-in security measures, including device passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and device encryption. We recommend that you enable a device passcode and keep your operating system up to date.
- Network security: No health data is transmitted over the network. The only network communication is RevenueCat subscription verification, which occurs over HTTPS (encrypted).
- No passwords stored: No user authentication system exists within the App — no passwords, tokens, or credentials are stored.
- Subscription security: Subscription transactions are secured through Apple's App Store infrastructure and RevenueCat's enterprise-grade security practices.
7. Sensitive Health Data — Special Protections
We recognize that menstrual cycle dates, symptom logs, and fasting history constitute sensitive health information under multiple legal frameworks, including:
- EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): "Special category" personal data under Article 9;
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): "Sensitive personal information";
- Other applicable state and international privacy laws.
Our approach to this sensitive data is straightforward: it never leaves your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, process, or have access to any of your health data. There is no analytics pipeline, no telemetry collection, and no third-party access to this information.
8. Health and Medical Disclaimer
The App provides general wellness guidance, not medical advice. Your cycle and fasting data is used solely for generating on-device recommendations within the App. No health data is shared with healthcare providers, medical institutions, or any third party. The App does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. For more information, see our Terms of Service.
9. Permissions Requested
The App requests only the following system permission:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Local reminders for fasting schedules, cycle/period predictions, and fasting completion alerts |
No other system permissions are requested. The App does not request access to your camera, location, health (HealthKit), contacts, microphone, photos, or any other system resource. Notification permission is requested at runtime with your explicit consent and can be revoked at any time in your device settings (Settings → Notifications → Fastara).
10. Your Privacy Rights
10.1 All Users
Regardless of your location, you have the ability to:
- Access all of your data within the App at any time;
- Export your data as a portable JSON file (Settings → "Export My Data");
- Delete all of your data permanently (Settings → "Delete All Data").
10.2 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. Because all health data is stored locally on your device and is not collected or processed by us, most of these rights are inherently satisfied by the App's architecture.
For any requests related to data processed by RevenueCat (subscription records), please contact us at support@fastara.app, and we will coordinate with RevenueCat to fulfill your request.
Legal basis for processing: Where we process any personal data, our legal basis is your consent (for notification permissions) and the performance of a contract (for subscription management through RevenueCat).
10.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information;
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the App's services. For any CCPA/CPRA-related inquiries, contact us at support@fastara.app.
11. Children's Privacy
Fastara is a health and wellness application involving intermittent fasting guidance. The App is not intended for, directed at, or designed to be used by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. No age verification is performed within the App.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has used the App, please contact us at support@fastara.app, and we will take steps to address the situation. Because all data is stored locally on the child's device, you may also delete all data directly through the App's Settings → "Delete All Data" feature.
12. No Account, No Server-Side Data
Because Fastara does not require account creation and does not store data on servers:
- We cannot recover your data if you delete it or uninstall the App;
- Your data does not sync across devices (no iCloud sync, no server sync);
- We cannot respond to law enforcement requests for health data we do not possess;
- A data breach of our systems cannot expose your health information, because we do not hold it.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the revised Privacy Policy at https://fastara.app/privacy and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Where practicable, we will also provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
